Known Progression of Bearcat Boys' School Records
These are the KNOWN record progressions of Muncie Central Boys school records. There are most likely more records that fell in a year or within a year but there is no history found and verified of the school record. Verification of records has been an effort. Newspapers,yearbooks and record data bases of the Indiana Swim Coaches Association and the IHSAA have been searched over. Sometimes patience pays off. It was only in January of 2015 that I can confidently clarify a record in the 200 Free Relay. For years that record was allegedly set in 1995 at the State finals with a time of 1:28.00. After contacting the boys involved and requesting and reviewing results from the IHSAA(after many previous requests) 1995 finals , I can conclude beyond a doubt that the 1:28.00 never happened. The boys on that relay did set a school record of 1:28.84 and for whatever reason the .00 was recorded. There is NO record of that 1:28.00 time anywhere in 1995 records. I believe it to be a typo that was never verified. Unfortunately two faster relays never had their claim to that school record. Hopefully that will be resolved. I have many doubts that results of the 1960s did not have more records recorded but there is no evidence of them. Again the appeal is made to all, that if you have knowledge of other records set please contact me.
